Bookmarklets

Drag any button below to your bookmarks bar and you will have instant access to color tools on any website — no extension required.

What Is a Bookmarklet?

A bookmarklet is a small JavaScript program stored as a browser bookmark. When clicked, it runs on the current webpage — instantly adding color picking, palette extraction or contrast checking to any site. Bookmarklets do not require installation, do not access your data remotely, and can be deleted from your bookmarks like any other bookmark.

How to Install a Bookmarklet

  1. Make sure your browser's bookmarks bar is visible (Ctrl/Cmd + Shift + B in most browsers).
  2. Drag any button below directly onto your bookmarks bar.
  3. Navigate to any website and click the bookmarklet to activate it.

Browser Support

Bookmarklets work in all modern browsers: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge, Opera. Some browsers block JavaScript bookmarklets on certain pages (like chrome://, about:, or content security policy-restricted pages) — this is by design and cannot be overridden.

Note: We do not currently ship official OmniColor browser extensions. Bookmarklets are our way of providing instant-access tools without the overhead of extension stores, permissions, or updates.
