Code of Conduct
Last updated: November 2026
Our Commitment
OmniColor is committed to providing a welcoming, respectful and harassment-free experience for everyone — regardless of age, body size, disability, ethnicity, gender identity or expression, level of experience, nationality, personal appearance, race, religion, or sexual identity and orientation.
This code of conduct applies to all interactions involving OmniColor: emails, contact forms, contribution submissions, social media interactions, and any future community spaces.
Expected Behavior
We expect everyone interacting with OmniColor to:
- Be respectful — engage with ideas, not people
- Assume good faith — most mistakes are not malicious
- Be constructive — if you disagree, explain why and suggest an alternative
- Be patient — this is a small project, response times may vary
- Give credit — acknowledge others' work when you reference it
- Stay on topic — keep discussions relevant to OmniColor and its purpose
Unacceptable Behavior
The following behaviors are unacceptable and will not be tolerated:
- Harassment of any kind — including unwelcome comments, messages or attention
- Discrimination based on any protected characteristic
- Personal attacks — criticism of ideas is welcome, but not attacks on people
- Threats — of violence, doxxing, legal action without basis, or any other harm
- Spam — promotional messages unrelated to the project
- Deliberate misinformation — spreading false information intentionally
- Encouraging self-harm or violence
- Posting private information about others without consent
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above
Our Rights
We reserve the right to:
- Remove or delete any content that violates this code
- Refuse to engage with anyone who repeatedly violates this code
- Block emails or contact from specific individuals
- Report serious threats or harassment to the appropriate authorities
- Moderate any future community space according to these standards
Reporting
If you experience or witness unacceptable behavior, please report it:
- Email: conduct@omnicolor.pages.dev
- Contact form: Contact page with "Code of Conduct" as the subject
In your report, please include:
- What happened
- When and where it happened
- Who was involved (if you are comfortable sharing)
- Any supporting evidence (screenshots, links)
- How you would like it to be resolved
What Happens After a Report
- Acknowledgment: We confirm receipt within 3 business days.
- Review: We review the report carefully and may ask for additional information.
- Assessment: We determine whether the code of conduct was violated.
- Action: If a violation occurred, we take appropriate action — from a private warning to a permanent block.
- Follow-up: We inform the reporter of the outcome (where confidentiality allows).
Confidentiality
Reports are handled confidentially. We will not share the identity of reporters without permission, except where required by law or where necessary to protect others.
Scope
This code of conduct applies to:
- Emails sent to any OmniColor email address
- Contact form submissions
- Guest article pitches and contributions
- Social media interactions with official OmniColor accounts
- Public discussions about OmniColor on other platforms
- Any future community spaces (forums, chat, etc.)
It does not apply to private interactions you have with other users entirely outside of OmniColor — though we encourage these to follow the same principles.
Attribution
This code of conduct is inspired by the Contributor Covenant, a widely-used code of conduct for open-source projects. We have adapted it for our specific context.
