General Disclaimer
The information and tools provided by OmniColor (omnicolor.pages.dev) are for general informational and design assistance purposes only. While we strive to keep the information accurate and current, we make no warranties of any kind, express or implied, about the completeness, accuracy, reliability, suitability or availability of the tools or content.
Any reliance you place on information or output from OmniColor is strictly at your own risk.
Color Conversion Accuracy
OmniColor's color conversion tools use standard mathematical formulas for HEX, RGB, HSL, HSV and CMYK conversions. These are accurate for the sRGB color space that virtually all modern screens use. However:
- RGB ↔ CMYK conversions are approximate. Screen and print color spaces have different gamuts, and exact conversion requires ICC color profiles and printer-specific calibration. Do not rely on our CMYK values for critical print production without verification by a professional print service.
- Color appearance depends on your display calibration, ambient lighting and viewing conditions. Two devices can render the same HEX color differently.
- ICC profile conversions are not implemented. If your design pipeline requires specific color profiles (Adobe RGB, Display P3, ProPhoto), use a dedicated color management tool.
Accessibility (WCAG) Disclaimer
Our contrast checker and accessibility tools implement the WCAG 2.2 relative luminance formula exactly as specified by the W3C. The ratios reported are mathematically correct. However:
- WCAG compliance depends on more than contrast ratios. Font size, font weight, letter spacing, background patterns and viewing context all affect readability.
- Meeting WCAG AA contrast does not guarantee that every user will find your content readable.
- Legal accessibility requirements vary by jurisdiction and may exceed WCAG AA. Consult a legal accessibility expert for compliance-critical work.
- Accessibility tools are provided as an aid, not as a substitute for a full accessibility audit.
Color Psychology and Meaning Disclaimer
Color psychology and color meaning information on OmniColor is based on widely-accepted cultural patterns and design research. However:
- Color associations vary significantly by culture, region, religion, gender, age and individual experience.
- Psychology research on color is often influenced by small sample sizes and cultural bias.
- Do not treat color psychology as deterministic. Test with your actual users before making brand decisions.
- We do not endorse using color psychology to manipulate or deceive users.
